Last updated: August 2026. These terms apply to all sharpening and honing services offered by Le Taillant.

Business Identification

Le Taillant, a sole proprietorship registered in Belgium under VAT number BE1037.257.721, with its place of business at 1698 Chaussée de Wavre, 1160 Auderghem, Bruxelles.

Services and Rates

Le Taillant offers the sharpening and honing of kitchen knives, at the workshop, by post or during professional rounds. Rates shown on the website are expressed in euros and confirmed before any work is carried out on a knife; they may change without notice for new orders.

Le Taillant benefits from the small business VAT exemption scheme: VAT is not applied to services.

Drop-off and Collection of Knives at the Workshop

Knives dropped off at the workshop are inspected before any work is carried out; any pre-existing damage or blade peculiarity is reported to the customer before sharpening. Le Taillant cannot be held liable for damage that predates drop-off.

Mail-in Shipping

Knives sent by post travel under the sender's responsibility until received at the workshop, and then under Le Taillant's responsibility until handed to the carrier for the return shipment. Careful packaging and tracked shipping are recommended. Le Taillant cannot be held liable for a parcel lost or damaged by the carrier.

Payment Terms

Payment is made by QR code, bank transfer, cash at the workshop, or by invoice for professional customers.

Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with Belgian law, the right of withdrawal does not apply to sharpening services fully performed at the customer's express request before the end of the withdrawal period.

Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Brussels.
